OHH MEDIA SIGN
Ooh Media were faced with the challenge of installing a six storey high LED sign to the side of a nine storey building on the corner of Bourke and Swanston Streets. They encountered difficulties finding a gantry solution that satisfied the Vodafone store at street level as well as council requirements and the start date was at risk of pushing back which was a major issue given the completion date was fixed due to presold advertising sales. In addition there were other challenges including having to access and satisfy seven different tenants internally to install the fixings for the sign as well as externally working on a very busy street corner close to tram lines.
Ooh Media were referred to Ben and Paul to assist them with working through these issues. As a result of the initial solutions we were able to deliver, Ooh Media ended up engaging MRU as overall construction managers to deliver the project.
MRU developed the master program for the works with all contractors and organised permits and approvals with Melbourne City Council and Yarra Trams as well as negotiating access to all the tenancies within the building.
We came up with the solution to custom design and build a gantry structure that spanned above and over the existing building canopy, thereby having minimal visual impact to the Vodaphone store.
Paul and Ben directly supervised the works which included numerous night shifts and weekends to minimise disruption to tenants and ensure that the tight program was achieved.
This is just one example of our commitment to delivering results and peace of mind on difficult projects and ensured that the project was delivered on time with all stakeholders interests very satisfied.
